Plattsburgh remains #1 for 10th consecutive week Division III Women's Top-10 Poll  

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – Plattsburgh State women's ice hockey stayed at No. 1 for the 10th consecutive Division III Women's Top-10 Poll, as announced on Monday.  

Plattsburgh State (14-1-0, 10-0-0 Northeast Women's Hockey League [NEWHL]) garnered 149 voting points and 14 first-place points to remain atop the poll. The Cardinals have held the No. 1 ranking in the poll since March 18, 2019.

Last week, the Cardinals defeated then-No. 5 Adrian College, 4-1, in the championship game of the 10th annual East-West Hockey Classic on Monday, Jan. 6, in Norwich, Vt. It was the sixth time that the Cardinals won the East-West Hockey Classic.

Plattsburgh State then won a pair of NEWHL home games – defeating Morrisville State, 5-1, on Wednesday, Jan. 8, and Buffalo State, 6-0, on Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena.

Plattsburgh State next plays at NEWHL foe Oswego State on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m. The Cardinals then face SUNY Canton in a home-and-home series this upcoming weekend. Plattsburgh State plays at Canton on Friday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m., before returning home to face the Kangaroos at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18.
