Plattsburgh’s Ivy Boric claims Rookie of the Week honors

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Plattsburgh freshman forward Ivy Boric (Newport Beach, CA) has been selected the Northeast Women's Hockey League's Rookie of the Week.

The honor is for games contested from Monday, Dec. 2, through Sunday, Dec. 8, and was announced by the NEWHL on Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Boric, who leads all Northeastern Women Hockey League freshmen in points (12) and assists (8) in 2019-20, tallied one goal, one assist and two points on four shots on goal. She boasted a +3 rating to help No. 1 Plattsburgh to a 2-0-0 record on the week. 

Boric began the week by tallying one goal, two shots on goal and a +2 rating in Plattsburgh's 7-0 blanking of Potsdam on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. She scored the Cardinals' fifth goal of the game at 13:01 of the second period. 

Boric then recorded an assist, two shots on goal and a +1 rating in Plattsburgh's 5-2 win at Cortland on Friday, Dec. 6. Her assist came on sophomore forward Taylor Whitney's first goal of the game, which gave Plattsburgh State a 1-0 lead at 1:35 of the first period. 

The Cardinals are in first place in the NEWHL standings.
