SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Cortland sophomore forward Amanda Gaffney (Williamsville, NY) has been named the Northeast Women's Hockey League's Player of the Week.
The honor is for games contested from Monday, Nov. 25, through Sunday, Dec. 1, and was announced by the NEWHL on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Gaffney scored four goals in a two-game road sweep at Lebanon Valley over the weekend as the Red Dragons improved to 6-1-1 on the season.
In a 5-0 win on Saturday, Nov. 30, Gaffney recorded her first career hat trick, including the game-winning goal midway through the first period.
She then netted the game winner 13 seconds before the end of the first period in a 3-0 victory on Sunday, Dec. 1.
For the season, Gaffney has scored eight points on five goals and three assists.
